Description

Beneath the soil, a branching root forms in warm, rain-fed landscapes across East and Southeast Asia. The plant thrives in loose earth and humid air, where its scent and taste deepen while maturing. Ginger later became naturalized in many tropical and subtropical parts of the world with similar growing conditions.

In kitchens and teapots around the world, Ginger is valued for its bold character in cooking, baking, and simple brewed drinks. It is the spice that brings warmth and lift to chai, weaving through the other ingredients with a lively, spicy presence. When steeped on its own, it produces a bright golden hue, a clean, peppery taste, and a smooth, gently warming mouthfeel that lingers.

Suggested Use

Recommended Use: About Ginger - This tea has a robust, spicy flavor with a warming, earthy undertone and a slightly peppery finish. When brewed, it produces an invigorating, aromatic cup. Certified organic and kosher.

Recommended Dose: Use spring or filtered water. Good water is an essential part of brewing a great cup of tea. Relax. Some of the most enjoyable aspects of tea are the calmness and ritual that surround it. Take some time for tea!

  • Quick Brew Directions: Pour freshly boiled water over tea bags in your chosen mug, cover, and steep 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Full Strength (decoction) Directions: When dried, Ginger root becomes stringy and tough ~ it needs to be gently simmered for maximum strength. Use a stainless pot and stainless or wooden utensils. Use one tea bag per cup of water, cover and bring to a gentle boil briefly, then turn down the heat and simmer for 10-20 minutes. Extra tea can be stored in a sealed glass jar for a day or two in the refrigerator.
