Description

The use of Dandelion was first recorded in China in the seventh century. By the eleventh century, middle eastern scholars were praising its qualities, and by the sixteenth century it was well established throughout Europe. Settlers carried it across the Atlantic, where it quickly naturalized and spread. Today, itโ€™s one of the most common weeds in North America, and refuses to be overlooked. For centuries its roots were valued as food ~ boiled as a vegetable, added to broths, or in herbal brews.

Brewed as an unroasted tea, Dandelion root reveals a smooth, earthy taste with gentle sweetness, balanced by natural bitterness. Simple, grounding, and enduring, it connects you to the long history of this resilient plant.

Suggested Use

Recommended Use: About Dandelion Root - This tea offers an earthy, slightly bitter taste with a robust, grounding mouthfeel. It brews into a deep golden cup and is certified organic, providing a warming, caffeine-free experience.

Recommended Dose: Use spring or filtered water. Good water is an essential part of brewing a great cup of tea. Relax. Some of the most enjoyable aspects of tea are the calmness and ritual that surround it. Take some time for tea!

  • Quick Brew Directions: Pour freshly boiled water over tea bags in your chosen mug, cover, and steep 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Full Strength (decoction) Directions: When dried, Dandelion Root is very tough ~ it needs to be gently simmered for maximum strength. Use a stainless pot and stainless or wooden utensils. Use one tea bag per cup of water, cover and bring to a gentle boil brie y, then turn down the heat and simmer for 10-20 minutes. Extra tea can be stored in a sealed glass jar for a day or two in the refrigerator.
